Chronic health conditions are prevalent among Māori women in New Zealand. Mrs Ketu-McKenzie's research explored links between childhood stress and chronic health issues among Māori women. Her results showed that stress accelerates the pathway to chronic disease, and that mindfulness therapy can improve health outcomes for Māori women.
