Values-Based Evaluative Management : An integrated and adaptive approach to enhance inclusion, development effectiveness, governance, and sustainability
Read article at Massey Research Online:
Sustainable Development is a focus in the 21st century and to achieve sustainable development goals, current management theory and practice needs to be reconsidered. Ms Averill’s research pointed to the emergence of evaluative management as an identifiable theoretical and instrumental knowledge frame that has the capacity to help reposition and integrate existing management discourses, strategic planning, performance management, and governance in development contexts. Her research explored options for development systems to be based on a new model of integrated management explicitly premised on the values of inclusion, partnership and participation that are underpinned by principles of relationality, contextual sensitivity and adaptive response.
