Ksenija is a curious scholar keen to immerse herself in new discoveries of cutting edge science of 21st century. She values social justice, academic relevance, sustainability and kaitiakitanga (sustainable guardianship) expressed in a context of collaborative and respectful relationships with integrity, joy and creativity. Her passion is in the integration of seemingly opposing polarities like research and practice, science and spirituality, internal and external, tertiary education and fun, individual and communal. Ksenija explores various facets of  intercultural communication with a special focus on humour and offense that occurs when cultural miscommunication happens either on personal, professional or political level. Her teaching style is inquiry based with integration of creative and alternative ways of assessing students’ work which includes peer and self-assessment. Ksenija believes that quality education is essential for improvement of the quality of life of communities, families and individuals and is committed to high quality tertiary education to achieve that. For that purpose, she focuses on continuous improvement of educational processes for a range of human professions in various areas of practice. Ksenija  develops courses and postgraduate programmes through engagement with communities inquiry and research. She is an energetic and respectful team player, able to initiate and inspire, for her innovation is rarely an isolated process – it happens through dialogue, lively discussions with colleagues and is often followed by solitary reflection in order to produce a practical outcome.

Ksenija is wholeheartedly committed to bi-culturalism and importance of partnership in creation of socially just Aotearoa New Zealand. 

Ksenija Napan is an associate professor at 羞羞视频 in Aotearoa New Zealand. Her main research interests are in integration of seemingly opposing polarities like science and spirituality, fun and learning, social change and social control and exploration of creative ways of doing social work and teaching/learning (ako). She is a curious scholar engaged in inquiry based learning and various ways of doing peer and self- assessment.  She developed two teaching methods (the Contact-Challenge method and Academic Co-creative Inquiry) based on principles of cooperative learning for beginning and advanced social workers which are applicable in a range of other disciplines.
