Associate Professor Matthew Henry BRP, MPhil, PhD

Accociate Professor

Doctoral Supervisor
School of People, Environment and Planning

I have three threads to my current research. One thread, which is linked to my involvement in the Marsden Funded Biological Economies research project, is concerned with examining agri-food experimentation and value creation in NZ’s. This research has focused on questions of assemblage, materiality and the practices of knowing and performing value. The second strand, broadly captured under the rubric of environmental history, is concerned with exploring the geographies of environmental scientific knowledge and practice in NZ. This strand has a particular focus on weather and climate, and the circulation and fashioning of meteorological expertise and practice.
