Dr Joanna Ross PhD
Senior Lecturer
School of People, Environment and PlanningJoanna teaches professional practice to the Resource and Environmental Planning students. She also supervises postgraduate research on a number of topics related to planning practice, for example, public particiaption, urban growth, and urban sustainability. The central focus of her current research is the concept of a just city. Recent MURF funding has enabled her to explore the effect of land use planning, in particular zoning and rules relating to density, on residential segregation. Joanna is a full member of the NewZealand Planning Institute.

Teaching Statement
Jo Ross is a Lecturer in the Resource & Environmental Planning in the School of People, Environment and Planning. Jo joined the Planning Programme staff after working as a planner for a number of years for a multi-disciplinary consultancy firm. She has also worked for local government in both New Zealand and the UK, and for a Non-Governmental Organisation (in the UK).
